Nearing Network Storage Limit
Maintaining adequate network storage for academic, research, and business purposes requires user action.
Information Technology is addressing the storage challenge. System administrators have performed cleanup, and currently are working to install and configure additional NAS in time for A Term. This NAS refresh will increase performance and capacity. As the work is underway, load on the current NAS must be reduced to meet immediate academic, research, and business needs.
All WPI account holders are asked to move data as follows:
- Move files off of personal network storage at
\\storage.wpi.edu\HOME\My_Documents
. These can be moved to OneDrive or removable storage such as a portable hard drive or USB drive.. - Files in business network storage at
\\storage.wpi.edu\DEPT
can be moved to SharePoint or Teams files, if not consdidered Restricted Use (See Actions). Ensure that those who need access to the files are members of the Team or have permission to the SharePoint site.
Please do not hesitate to contact the IT Service Desk for assistance moving files, or using Teams or SharePoint.
