New Art Exhibit in the Library: Enchanted Garden by Lora Brueck

The Gordon Library and Archives & Special Collections Department invite visitors to the Enchanted Garden: Photographs of the Higgins House Grounds exhibit located in the Scott Room on the 3rd floor of the library. The well-known beauty of the Higgins House grounds was captured in 1990-1991 by Lora Brueck (1948-2025), Gordon Library's first archivist. Delicate flowers, towering trees, textured stones, and glimpses of Higgins House are the subjects of her black and white photography. Accompanying the exhibit is the published history of Higgins House, A Passion Fulfilled for All to Enjoy, written by Lora, and shares the aesthetic and human stories of this iconic building on the WPI campus. Lora was a beloved colleague and brilliant artist whose long career at WPI was remarkable, most notably for all she did to make time and space for art at the heart of WPI’s Library and of the Institute itself.
