Baseball Posts Four to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team

WORCESTER -- WPI Baseball placed four student-athletes on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Baseball Academic All-District Team. Representing the Crimson and Gray were seniors Andrew Cash and Tommy Burns, junior Jonathan Lattimer, and junior Jacob Wiberg.

WORCESTER -- WPI Baseball placed four student-athletes on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Baseball Academic All-District Team. Representing the Crimson and Gray were seniors Andrew Cash (Marlboro, MA) and Tommy Burns (Morris Plains, NJ), junior Jonathan Lattimer (Windsor, CT), and junior Jacob Wiberg (Exeter, NH).
 
Cash earns the prestigious honor for the second straight season. A computer science major carrying a 3.88 GPA, the senior designated hitter and outfielder was also a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selection. On the field, Cash slugged a team-best 11 home runs while hitting .361 with 43 hits, 42 RBIs, and a .723 slugging percentage across 34 games en route to earning All-NEWMAC First Team honors and regional first team honors from D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). 
 
Burns also repeated as a CSC Academic All-District honoree. A senior civil engineering major with a 3.65 GPA, he was a two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree. The senior captain capped off a stellar senior season by leading WPI in hits (56), batting average (.394), and total bases (91), while adding 35 RBIs, 13 doubles, and 12 stolen bases over 37 starts. Burns claimed All-NEWMAC second team status in addition to regional accolades featuring a second team honor from the ABCA and third team nod from D3baseball.com. 
 
Lattimer, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.60 GPA, secured his first CSC Academic All-District recognition following back-to-back NEWMAC Academic All-Conference awards. The junior catcher and infielder hit .367 in 34 games with 47 hits, 27 RBIs, and a .477 slugging percentage.
 
Wiberg, an outfielder with a perfect 4.00 GPA in computer science, was recognized in his first year of eligibility after earning NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors in 2025. The junior batted .333 over 35 games with 38 hits, 13 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases.
 
WPI Baseball wrapped up the 2025 campaign with a 14-25 overall record.
