WPI Track & Field Trio Tabbed 2025 USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-Region
New Orleans, LA --- WPI Men's Track & Field listed three honorees to the 2025 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor Track & Field All-Region list as announced this week.
Returning to the All-Region list is junior Dylan Serreyn (Windomn, MN) in the triple jump event as he ranked third after he bettered his own school record, pushing his top mark to 14.07m for second place in the MIT Gordon Kelly Invitational in mid-February. The junior jumper followed up the next week with an event title at the Springfield College Classic. Serreyn posted a 13.20m jump for 10th place at the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Graduate student Avinash Bissoondial (Millbury, MA) and sophomore Ethan Anderson (North Haven, CT) earned their first career track and field regional honors from the USTFCCCA in the 3,000-meter and weight throw, respectively.
Bissoondial logged four individual titles during this indoor season in the mile and 5,000-meter run at Wheaton's Lyons Invitational, the 3,000-meter event at the Tufts Cupid Challenge with an 8:23.86 time and posted a 4:17.09 time in the mile at the Springfield College Triangle Classic. The graduate student trekker clocked in a career-best 8:21.46 in the 3k at the Tufts Last Chance meet that slated him third in the region for the recognition from the USTFCCCA.
Anderson posted six top-five event finishes in the weight throw during the indoor slate en route to qualifying for the New England Division III Championships and the All-New England Championships. The sophomore thrower posted his career-best throw of 16.97m at the All-New England Championships which finished fifth. Additionally, Anderson registered four top-five marks in the shot put including an event crown at the Wheaton Invite with a 14.17m hurl before posting his career-best of 14.51m at the Triangle Classic that ranked Anderson eighth in the east region concluding the indoor campaign.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
WPI Track & Field looks to open the outdoor campaign at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on March 29th.
